Artist’ Statement:

I have been greatly influenced by the Saskatchewan landscape since coming to the prairies. The remarkable depth and simplicity of my surroundings promotes a strong, plain form in my art. I try to achieve this in my painting by working the media to show deep textures and colours with simple, solid objects. My work is becoming more abstract as I struggle to simplify the form yet maintain the essence of prairie landscape.

I will continue painting in acrylic and watercolour and further reflect these qualities in welded and polished metal sculpture and mixed-media constructions.

 Bio:

Born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1946, I have lived in various areas of Ontario, including Georgian Bay and London. I worked many years as a mechanical technician and programmer, only recently moving into the arts, assisting in North Battleford galleries and selling my work locally for the past eight years.
